A sailfin tang at the London Aquarium.

  • Not good value for money.
  • Is part of a fleet of identikit aquariums around the world. Apart from a rockpool of creatures from UK coastal waters, it has little to do with London or the UK.
  • If you really want to see the fish, walk to Waterloo station and get on a train for Chessington South, then go to Chessington World of Adventures (a theme park), which also has a SeaLife Aquarium but also has rollercoaster and zoo animals. If you go by train (not with Oyster or contactless), you can get 1/3 off Chessington tickets through National Rail’s Days Out Guide, but you have to book ahead.
  • It’s hot and busy.

🛜 Free WiFi for visitors. Connect and sign up as you come in, before you head down into the aquarium.
